Countdown to the most prestigious children's literature award in America!

The 2013 Newbery Awards are just around the corner (January 27th to be precise).

Middle School Library Club has been very busy picking contenders and reading them so they can decide what should win.

After much discussion they've narrowed their selection down to two titles.

After their grandmother tells them that their missing dad was killed in a fight with an angry man, Annie and Rew spend their days imagining what exotic jobs he probably had, but a prison escapee unravels all their stories.
"This book is awesome. It should totally win!" ~Lauren L.
Zach, Alice, and Poppy, friends from a Pennsylvania middle school who have long enjoyed acting out imaginary adventures with dolls and action figures, embark on a real-life quest to Ohio to bury a doll made from the ashes of a dead girl.
"It's a little creepy, I mean the doll is made out of china made from the bones of a girl. But it's good and could win." ~ Lauren P.

We'll find out Friday, January 31st if their choice won!
