Have you read...? Will you see...?

So many books are being made into movies these days!  The official trailer for Divergent is out now, it looks pretty exciting.

And The Book Thief by Markus Zusak has been turned into a movie as well.  Here's the trailer for that:

And of course there's Ender's Game, in theater's now:

And the second Hunger Games film, naturally:

And there's no trailer yet because they've just started filming, but Gayle Forman's best selling YA book If I Stay will be coming out eventually as well.

And even bigger news is that they finally sorted everything out (after about 15 years) and The Giver is finally finally FINALLY going to be made into a movie.  Jeff Bridges will play the role of the Giver and Taylor Swift is slated to co-star in it.  Jonas will be played by Australian actor, Brenton Thwaites.

Of course I've saved the best news for last!  A book near and dear to Middle School students at LCDS is set to be made into a movie.  I'll give you one hint below:

That's right!  The director of A Nightmare Before Christmas and Coraline has taken the helm of the project. No word yet on a release date.  How exciting and congratulations to Adam Gidwitz!!!

New books in the library!

Happy November!

We have nearly one hundred new and shiny books for you to read here in the library this month! And we have Thanksgiving break to look forward to, with all that lovely free time.

If you're interested in the story of Malala, then you'll want to take a look at her autobiography.  It's a very interesting and easy book to read.  I had the chance to go to St. Louis and meet a lot of terrific authors.  I've come back with quite a few of their books, stop by and ask me all about, I can't wait to share everything I learned!

So without further is the selection.
