New books in the library!

Welcome back everyone!
(And those who are new, welcome to The Rolling Book Cart Blog!)

Here are the new books for the month of August.  There are some fabulous titles in here.

For those of you who loved Ender's Game or Epic (or Saga for that matter) will love Insignia by S.J. Kincaid.  Any Lord of the Rings, Eragon, Eon fans out there are going to get a kick out of Rachel Hartman's Seraphina as well.  (Really fantastic dragons, reminded me a lot of Vulcans...)

If you're interested in historical fiction, definitely take a look at Yesterday's Dead by Pat Bourke.  It focuses on the Spanish Flu epidemic that hit Toronto in 1918 through the eyes of a young girl sent to be a house maid (or assistant cook) to a doctor and his family.

And the graphic novels are very interesting this month.  Axe Cop was written by a five-year old and illustrated by his thirty-year-old brother.  Sita's Ramayana is a gorgeous retelling of the famous Hindu story from Sita's perspective. Those of you 9th graders in World Civ will definitely want to take a look.

Some fantastic non-fiction as well, ranging from the history of the periodic tables (far more hilarious and weird than you'd think) to the memoir of a gypsy girl who moved to America when she was a teen.

And also always, if you can't find quite what you're looking for and want a little help, your friendly neighborhood librarian is always here!  :)  Have a great year and I look forward to seeing you all in the library!
